Course Format:
The leader-led equipping course format is broken up into small chunks (called sessions) of information making it easier to focus on a particular concept. Each session uses the following format:

  1. A full-group meeting where the course leader (qualified instructor) teaches information on the topic.
  2. Participants break into small groups and apply what they have learned through the practice of asking valid science questions that can help clarify or call into question misleading information in textbooks. For information on small group leaders, go to the page Small Group Ledership Guide.
  3. Participants regroup for a short debrief period to answer or clarify any outstanding questions or issues on the topic.
  4. A short break.

In all aspects of the program, each student is made to feel safe in being able to openly contribute information, whether correct or incorrect. The purpose is to equip for success, not to grade, fail, or make anyone feel they have fallen short of learning. Every gain in a student's ability to strengthen their faith in God's Word and to equip them to be a witness is a success.
The leader-led format is a 14-hour course and can be held in the following formats:

  • A two-day schedule (For example, Friday evening and all day Saturday).
  • A camp retreat
  • Sunday School classes
  • Home school groups

What You Will Learn in This Course
This course will equip you to:

    1. Identify and state differences between microevolution, macroevolution, and natural selection by citing examples used in textbooks.
    2. Identify why the Miller experiment was not a success and give key scientific evidences why the origin of life by natural processes is not possible.
    3. State how the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics pertain to the origin of life and why evolution violates both these laws of science.
    4. State why the enormous complexity and amount of information in DNA and RNA is a challenge to the model of evolution.
    5. State with confidence relevant science questions that help clarify or challenge misleading or incorrect information in textbooks.

    Leader-Led Course Cost
All expenses associated with an equipping course are the responsibility of the sponsoring church(s). These cost include (but are not limited to):

  • Speaker honorarium
  • Air fare for two (course leader and assistant)
  • Motel and meals
  • Manuals for students and leaders
  • Shipping cost for manuals

We recommend that several local churches or schools sponsor the course financially and promotionally. This way the cost requirements per church are greatly reduced. In addition, charging a fee per student can offset some of the cost. A suggested cost per student is $25 to $35. For more information on cost go the download page at this web site and download the Training ETC Equipping Course Procedure Manual.doc.
